11_BlueNautical_2322Since 1906, the Transpacific Yacht Race has taken place every two years testing teams speed and agility through the vast ocean that lays ahead of them on the 2,225 nautical mile journey. This long and vigorous race across the Pacific Ocean is organized by the Transpacific Yacht Club and starts in Los Angeles, California and finishes in East Honolulu, Hawaii near the famous Diamond Head Lighthouse. Competitors from all around the globe come to this race to try their skill and luck to take home one of the titles as their own. There are eight possible trophies that can be earned throughout this challenge and two of the most prized ones being  The Barn Door Trophy awarded to the Fastest Monohull Elapsed Time and the Transpacific Honolulu Race Elapsed Time Record Trophy for the fastest elapsed time by a Monohull yacht.

This year a New Monohull Transpac Race Record was set by, Mighty Merloe. They were the first to finish the 2017 Transpacific Yacht Race, and new holders of the multihull Transpac Race record elapsed time at 4 Days, 6 Hours, 33 Minutes, 30 Seconds! Congratulations!
