This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, co-founded by two of Hawai‘i’s own James Beard Award-winning chefs, Roy Yamaguchi and Alan Wong. The Festival will showcase wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, one-of-a-kind excursions, and exclusive dining opportunities with dishes highlighting the state’s bounty of local produce, seafood, beef and poultry.

The Reyn Spooner team has partnered with the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival to provide the official 2015 HFWF apparel collection. 10% of the Proceeds made from the collection will be donated to support local beneficiaries committed to sustainability & cultural and educational programs in Hawai‘i.

Reyn Spooner will also be providing the five-year anniversary Chef coats, made exclusively for all of the chefs participating in the 2015 HFWF event. The collar of the Chef coat features our signature Lahaina Sailor print.

To celebrate this partnership, we hosted a KICK OFF event at the Reyn Spooner Ala Moana store, featuring one of the co-founders of HFWF, Roy Yamaguchi. The evening was full of amazing food, cocktails, music, fashion, and even better people.

Roy Yamaguchi and his crew served up mouth-watering, culinary creations including: Poke, Kampachi Crudo and Surf & Turf Sushi.

Southern Wine and Spirit’s Director of Mixology, Chandra Lucariello, and her partner in crime, Erin Suzuki, shook up two signature cocktails using local ingredients and flavors. One of the cocktails, “The Shaka”, similar to a Moscow Mule with an Island twist, was made with locally made Ocean vodka, mint, ginger and lilikoi and was nothing short of refreshing and delicious.

Herb Ohta Jr serenaded the guest with the beautiful sounds of his ukulele.

From delicious food and drinks to amazing fashion and entertainment, this event was truly one to remember.

During the event, Roy Yamaguchi took some time to sign the first official Hawaii Food and Wine festival Aloha shirt sold.

Two of these prints were designed and created by Reyn Spooner’s renowned Hawaiiana Artist, Dietrich Varez. All these items will be available at the Reyn Spooner Ala Moana Store and select HFWF events including: The Modern Honolulu’s Chopsticks & Cocktails September 10th, and Ko’olina Resort’s Beauty and the Beast September 9th.
